Neighbors are welcome to attend meetings in person. Seating capacity may be limited. Fill out a
comment card and give it to the meeting clerk to request to speak. Speakers will be called to share
their comments in the order of sign-up.


The City Hall Auditorium and Roberta Lisle Kline Conference Room are equipped with hearing loop
assistive listening systems. When using your own hearing aid, you must switch your device to Telecoil
or “T” mode. If your hearing aid does not have a Telecoil mode, broadcast staff can provide a
headset.

The City Commission approve the minutes from the General Policy Committee Meeting of October 13, 2022.

An ordinance of the City of Gainesville, Florida, amending the Code of Ordinances by updating the City Internal Auditor Ordinance Sec.2-176-179 to reflect revised professional standards; providing a severability clause; providing a repealing clause; and providing an immediate effective date.

  • Recommendation:

    The City Commission adopt the proposed ordinance and repeal the Resolution 150127.

City-sponsored energy efficiency programs may include air conditioner exchange programs, which allow neighbors to trade in inefficient units for more efficient ones, or rebate programs for efficient appliances, which offer neighbors the ability to earn money back if their appliances meet certain efficiency standards.

  • Recommendation:

    The General Policy Committee hear a presentation from staff and discuss.

GRU has redesigned its Operational Update report and changed the format from monthly to quarterly. Staff will present the new format to the GPC.

  • Recommendation:

    The General Policy Committee receive the report and hear a presentation from staff.

The Gainesville Police Department will provide an update on events and statistics to the Commission.

  • Recommendation:

    The General Policy Committee hear the presentation from speakers and ask any questions as it relates to the presented information.

This item is a recommendation that the General Policy Committee hear a presentation from Gainesville Fire Rescue for the Public Safety Quarterly Update.

  • Recommendation:

    The General Policy Committee hear the presentation from Gainesville Fire Rescue.

GCRA staff will provide regular updates to General Policy Committee meetings.

  • Recommendation:

    The General Policy Committee hear a presentation from staff and take appropriate actions as necessary.

The Transportation Department will provide an update on the Parking Program, addressing such topics as the SW Downtown Parking Garage, Parking Meters, Mobile Pay, Permit Sales and Enforcement.

  • Recommendation:

    The City Commission receive an update on the Parking Program.
